Bashir Muhammad Abbo

Mallam Bahir Muhammad Abbo was born in Yola on 13th February, 1966. Mr. Abbo is currently the Director of Administration with the National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE) & Member, Executive Management Committee, NCNE from Nov. 2023 to date. He served as Director, Special Duties from Jan, 2023 to Nov. 2023. He has numerous academic and professional qualifications which include; Master in Development Studies (MDS)- from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)- Kaduna in 2012; Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 2009 from the Usumanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto with amliation of the Nigeria Teacher’s Institute ( NTI); Advance Diploma in Public Administration (ADPA) from the Federal University of Technology, Yola, (FUTY) in 1996; Bachelor of Arts, Islamic Studies- First Class Honours from the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) in 1989.
Mr. Abbo served as a Delegate to the Joint Consultative Council on Education (JCCE), JCCE Plenary /Reference and National Council on Education (NCE), the highest policy making body of the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), 2010-to date; He was a Deputy Director, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) from Jan.2018 to Dec, 2020, NCNE; Head of Consultancy and Outreach Services, NCNE, Jan. 2019 to Jan. 2021. He began his career as Administrative Omcer, Assistant Academic Secretary (Examination & Records as well as Admissions with Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola from 1991 to 1993. He was seconded to Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF), Kaduna, as Senior Programme Omcer & Assistant Head of Programmes from July 2013 to January 2017. So also Jaiz Charity and Development Foundation (JCDF), Abuja, as an Assistant Director and Head of Programmes from January 2021 to Dec 2022.
Mr. Abbo attended, participated and facilitated numerous capacity development programmes, conferences, seminars, workshops and roundtable meetings at local, national, regional, continental and international levels. He also had cognate experience in research and development, concepts, proposals and papers development and presentations. He was a fellow of Economic and Human Development Practitioners Association (EHDPAN), Member, Association of Education Planning of Nigeria ( AEPN) and Member, International Institute of Security Planning (IISP).
